Having the confidence and compassion
to accept our imperfection,
leads to the demise of defensiveness and ego.

––M. Chere Sampson

Note: Sometimes the fierce need to be right is fueled by the fear of being regarded as not smart enough or having our ideas dismissed. Being right is not the same as needing to be right. At other times we can learn something, with no loss of self-esteem.

Question: How can we participate in a conversation without any investment in being told that we are right, and thus avoid engaging in a pointless debate?
